Bertie June Beck, age 88 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Kirksville Manor in Kirksville, Missouri.
Born June 24, 1930 in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Foster Thomas and Bonnie Mae (Fast) Vandiver. On September 23, 1951 in Trenton, Missouri she was united in marriage to Edward Eugene Beck who preceded her in death on January 4, 1994.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and three sisters, Mary Vandiver, Deloma West, and Maurita Duffy.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Beck and wife Marcia of Raymore, Missouri and Steve Beck of La Plata, Missouri; one daughter, Rhonda Hunter and husband Mike of Centerburg, Ohio; five grandchildren, Bradford Beck, Jayci Hoarsely, Leslie Chapman, Eric Hunter, and Casey Ribble; several great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bertie was a 1948 graduate of Kirksville High School. She moved to La Plata from Trenton, Missouri in 1973. She was a member of the Bells and Beaus Square Dance Club and the First Baptist Church in Trenton, Missouri. Bertie enjoyed quilting and family gatherings.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.

"Billy" left school at 12 yrs. of age. He was employed by a brick maker.
His job was to wheel the clay from the clay yard to the brickmaker.
When a young man, he began as an employee of the Garston sewer dept. He helped lay the drains and pipes at Speke Road Airport.
In 1902 when Garston was incoporated into the city of Liverpool he became a District Foreman. Later was appointed an Inspector of the southern 1/2 of Liverpool by the Council. He retired at the age of 65.

Chett L. Barkdull was born April 5, 1967 in Burien Washington to parents Lynn and Darla Barkdull; he passed away at his home in Marysville on October 14, 2011 at the age of 44.
Chett attended Lake Steven High School where he graduated and later went to Everett Community College. In September of 2002 Chett married Michele Gallegos and they began their life together. Chett always lived life to the fullest. He worked for some time in Alaska fishing and working on the processors, but mostly worked as a framing contractor for 10 years. Chett never missed a day to go to the YMCA to do his work-out in Marysville, but his other activities included fishing, Crabbing, playing sports, dancing, karaoke and vacationing in Mexico. He was always sensitive and kind to others and his classmates say he was the ‘glue’ that held them altogether. Chett was always involved and always wanted to bring people together for events and gatherings.
Chett is preceded in death by his Aunt Nadine Baker and Cousin Hale Brooks. He is survived by his wife Michele Barkdull; parents Lynn (Darla) Barkdull; brother Brett Barkdull; and sister-in-law Tracy (Mike) Kernaghan.
A celebration of Chett’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway in Everett. NORA SPRINGS — Crystal M. Hinecker, 83, of 907 N. Congress, Nora Springs, died Monday (June 21, 2004) at the Nora Springs Care Center.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Memorial Park Cemetery, 11495 265th St. (Highway 122), Mason City, with Dan Bjerke officiating.
Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye in Nora Springs, is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be left to the Crystal M. Hinecker Memorial Fund, 422 S. Van Buren Ave. Mason City, IA 50401.
Crystal Maxine Hinecker, the daughter of Robert F. and Florence E. (Bailey) Brooking, was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Kirksville, Mo.
Crystal graduated from Mason City High School in 1938. After high school, she moved to Chicago and worked for Ampro during the war, making camera parts.
In 1951 she moved back to Mason City to work for Damons and Aldens. She then worked for Cliftons and then the Red Owl in Clear Lake for 11 years.
In 1970, she moved to Nora Springs and worked as an assistant administrator for Liberty Square until retiring in 1982.
Crystal was a member of the "Giddie Biddies" Card Club and a past member of the Odd Fellows.
She loved to read, dance, play cards, put puzzles together, and watch birds.
She was a very avid sports fan especially of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls.
Crystal is survived by two daughters, Deborah K. Hickman and her husband Jerry of Whitesboro, Texas; Catherine M. Nava and her husband Victor of Mason City, one son, Randy L. Hinecker and his wife Ellen of Plymouth, a very special friend, Ruby Wilson of Nora Springs, four grandchildren, Jason Ring and his wife Jenny of Mason City, Amber Ring of Mason City, and Christine Douglas and her husband Carl of Plymouth and Melissa Hinecker of Plymouth, and one great-granddaughter Chylee Douglas.

Darla Jean Barkdull, longtime resident of Lake Stevens, passed away after a brief Illness on February 20, 2015 at the age of 74. She was born July 22, 1940 in Fairfield, Idaho as the second of three children to Mae and Harold Brooks.
She graduated from Camas County High School in 1958, and attended Boise Community College in the nursing program for a year before her marriage to Lynn in 1960. After marriage, she and Lynn lived in Meridian, Idaho, where she worked for Argonaut Insurance for five years before moving to Washington in 1966. After moving to Lake Stevens, she was a part time checker at Adams Grocery in downtown Lake Stevens for 10 years before turning her attention to being a full-time homemaker.
Darla was a self-taught amateur musician. She could be found frequently playing her antique piano, accordion, or ukulele. She enjoyed sewing, making Christmas ornaments, gardening, home making, making jelly and jam, and canning. Mostly though, she enjoyed having the house full of kids. She loved wildlife; raccoons, deer, squirrels and birds were frequent visitors. A family of raccoons she fed were nightly visitors. Darla also took care of many people in the neighborhood, helping those with special needs.
She is survived by her son, Brett; daughter-in-law, Michele Barkdul; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn; son, Chett; sister, Nadine; and brother Jim
