  Notes	!Biography: Jan sailed for New Netherlands April 16, 1663 on the Bonte Koe (Spotted Cow) with his brothr Barent and soon settled at Kingston where he was admitted to the Reformed Dutch Church of Wiltwyck July3, 1664. He was mentioned frequently in the early records of the Kingston Court and Reformed Dutch Church. With Jan Jansen Van Oosterhoudt, he was grantyed a patent at Brabant (now Esopus) October 17, 1671 and he was appointed Schepen (Magistrate) for the town of Swaenburgh October 6, 1673. !Death: He died prior to October 30, 1708 in Brabant, Ulster County, New York, when his eldest surviving son Barent, made a bond to his brothers and sisters as to the dispostiton of their fathers estate who "is removed from this world without disposing of his estate by testament."
